The official line out of the white house over this whole comey thing is basically “what’s the problem? I thought all you liberals hated this guy” and strangely enough it’s making me think again about the democratic primary. Because both represent a flagrant abuse of power? Yes, but for another reason, both show those in power grossly oversimplifying the politics of the people. So here’s the trump administration saying, ‘liberals hate comey because of the election, so nobody’s gonna care if I get rid of him’ and meanwhile liberals all over the country are saying ‘ya we had an issue with him but that doesn’t mean you can do whatever your fascist ass wants.’ Turns out that details matter, context matter, and that the public is capable of having complex opinions. Perhaps this is a new phenomenon as people are paying more attention.
